Alabela is a French-American artist, songwriter and producer creating worlds that exist somewhere between memory, mythology and imagination. Alabela is an exploration of curiosity, freedom and what it means to experience life beyond the familiar.

 

Her music moves through cinematic electronic landscapes, acoustic textures, multilingual vocals and subtle Mediterranean influences, drawing inspiration from nature, travel and the musical traditions that have surrounded her throughout her life. These influences are transformed into environments of her own that can feel ancient and unfamiliar, grounded and otherworldly at the same time.

As a synesthete, Alabela experiences sound through color, texture and movement, allowing each piece of music to unfold as its own sensory world. At the center of her work is a search for what exists beneath conditioning and who we become when we begin to move beyond expectation. Through explorations of femininity, spirituality, mythology and the contradictions of being human, her work embraces softness and power, sensuality and the sacred, movement and stillness as different parts of the same experience.
